RUMBLINGS OF RONNIE PRIDE #015

Dedicated to Isaac Icbreeze

A good friend of mine some weeks ago asked me and I quote But though we use the bible today to refer and appreciate the power of GOD. But does it mean we should follow it word by word?”

A vertical line is the axis of restriction and power, a horizontal line is the axis of connection and liberation. If you wrote a bunch of numbers in a vertical line:

1

2

3

4

5

It would be seen as ranking, and if you wrote them horizontally

1 2 3 4 5

It would be connecting

Vertical and horizontal represent features of the phenomenological. Things that are vertical represent a sense of rigidity and power and things that are horizontal convey a sense of freedom and openness.

When the church was just starting, it had enemies on all side, thereby naturally to protect itself it had to create a hierarchy, it had to verticalize itself and those that did this well prevailed. Even in the past walls, or systems of defense were built on high areas.

Unity is vertical and multiplicity is horizontal. Power concentrated in a few (vertical) spreads out among the many (horizontal). The Christian religion is a map, a map is a necessary simplification of a landscape. In order for a map to be useful it has to emphasize one aspect of something.

A map shows you all the roads by excluding all the other details… it doesn’t mean whats excluded is useless. Isaiah 45:7 says “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the lord do all these things”

So what do two lines have to with anything???

Hint:

I am not implying anything, I am just stating phenomenological observations. I am just stating the fact that Christ was a man that wrote nothing about himself or what he believed, all we know about him comes from those who associated with him or those that did not… he reportedly said some very strange things and then he was killed for saying them….and do you ever wonder that if Jesus lived in our current times, would his teachings become a religion and if so what would that religion look like??

Also talking about lines I just find it funny that humans are vertical creatures and that snakes are horizontal creatures… and this thought made me re-read a chapter in Genesis in which I observed that enmity was cast between the vertical and the horizontal and then that Jesus guy became the eclipse of the two opposite lines…. From my perspective this Jesus guy was a controversial character, in that others called him “Savior” while others called him “Demon-possessed”. While he was prophesied to be the “prince of peace” when he came he said he had not come to bring peace but a sword… Discernment is key to understanding and making sense of the spiritual.

Anyways, I rest my case
